Purchase CPI Sy License to Administer if you plan to administer the CPI Sy as an online survey via a non-Mind Garden survey system or as a paper and pencil survey. You retype or reproduce and administer the CPI Sy yourself. Use the data template provided to upload your results for scoring.

This License to Administer (this “License”) relates to the California Psychological Inventory Sociability Scale (“the Work”) and supplements the Terms of Service of Mind Garden (“the Terms”), a copy of which is available at the URL below, and the full terms of which are hereby incorporated by reference into this License:

Conditions for Online Use

These Conditions for Online Use form a part of this License to Administer the Work and the Permission Letter is subject to these Conditions as well as the Terms.

General Conditions

You agree to:

• administer the Work for your own personal research purposes only and not for any commercial or third-party use;
• restrict access to the Work. The Work may not be made available via the open (e.g., public) web, nor sent in the message body or as an attachment to an email to research participants/ test-takers, or otherwise. You may administer the Work to research participants/ test-takers via the Mind Garden platform or a third-party online survey platform set up by you, or in paper form in person, but you may not circulate versions of the Work to third parties, nor provide PDF versions of the Work to research participants/ test-takers, by email or otherwise;
• not use copyrighted items (e.g., instrument questions) from this Work on the survey landing page (other than any sample items that have been previously authorized in writing). You should put other items on this landing page, e.g., demographic questions or informed consent;
• include the Work’s copyright notice on every page containing questions/items from this Work. The copyright notice is provided in the enclosed permission letter;
• track your license use. Each time a test-taker opens the survey and has access to and completes the questions/items is considered one administration;
• compensate Mind Garden for each administration of the Work;
• purchase a license for any additional administrations of the Work over the initial purchase quantity, or close the survey when you have administered it to the number you purchased;
• only share the three pre-authorized sample items from the Work as specified in the Permission Letter, in any publication, including the research write-up, thesis, or dissertation or appendices;
• not copy, reproduce, amend, modify, or make any alteration to the Mind Garden products (including the assessment questionnaires, Pre-written Inventories (as defined in the Terms) and associated materials, reports, descriptions or other Mind Garden products and information);
• not disclose, share, circulate, transfer or otherwise disseminate any products (including the assessment questionnaires, Pre-written Inventories and associated materials, reports, descriptions or other Mind Garden products and information) except to permitted research participant/ test-takers for the purposes of administration of the questionnaire on the Mind Garden platform or otherwise. In such event, you shall ensure that the test-taker understands and accepts by electronic or written means that they shall not circulate, transfer or otherwise disclose or disseminate the products questionnaire or items with any third-party;
• not back/reverse engineer, decompile or make any other attempts to extract source code from the questionnaire or other products or materials provided by Mind Garden, including in relation to the scoring of questionnaires specifically;
• not use or integrate any AI (artificial intelligence tool) with any customization of the Products that you may be permitted to undertake hereunder ie in any Customer Created Inventories, or otherwise;
• remove the Work from the online survey at the conclusion of your data collection and you will personally confirm in writing to info@mindgarden.com that it cannot thereafter be accessed; and
• all intellectual property rights in the Works and other material provided by Mind Garden hereunder, if any, remains the exclusive property of Mind Garden and its applicable licensor. In the event of any authorized or unauthorized adaptation or other amendment of the Works and other materials, including translation, all rights shall be deemed works made for hire and shall accrue to the benefit of, or otherwise be assigned to, Mind Garden and its applicable licensor only.

Caution: If you do not require a unique login for each test-taker, the survey method you use may elicit a larger number of responses to your survey than you had anticipated. You are responsible for compensating Mind Garden for every administration of the Work, regardless of circumstances.

Distributing the entire Work to any third party other than a test-taker whether in the text of an email or as an email attachment or via the open (e.g. public) web is strictly prohibited.
