Chapin, F. Stuart

Francis Stuart Chapin, Ph.D., (1888-1974) was a sociologist who influenced the creation of a quantitative, statistical sociology in the US.  He helped create the Social Science Research Council and served as President of the American Sociological Association in 1935.
